We got a 9.5 week old Wheaten Terrier from Petland on March 22. He did have very slight nasal discharge at the time. During the purchasing process, they showed me a flyer listing all of the benefits and included perks of getting a puppy through them. One of those perks was a spay/neuter voucher. I assumed that was included in the sale price. After the fact, I did notice it was an additional $300 added separately to my receipt. Reviewing the paperwork later, it also appears that you can only have the spay/neuter procedure done at the vet office located next door. I was initially upset because we already have an established vet elsewhere that we really love. The pet warranty company called me days later and I asked specifically about that. They said I can get the procedure done at the vet of my choosing and submit the paperwork/receipt to them afterward to be reimbursed up to the $300. That is acceptable to me. Anyway, we took our new puppy to our vet the next day (March 23) where he was prescribed an antibiotic for the nasal discharge, had a fecal test done, and a general wellness exam. I will say the nasal discharge stopped pretty quickly after bringing him home and I’m not certain he was even sick or if it was just from irritation due to cleaning products used at the store. His fecal came back positive for coccidia which was treated and resolved. He has had no other health concerns and is growing excellently and is quite smart. Mild respiratory symptoms and parasites are extremely common among puppies, that’s why dewormers are a standard practice for them. We are happy with our decision to buy from here as we had a pretty small list of breeds we were considering and I was only interested in a puppy. The pictures included are of Teddy when we met him at Petland and from yesterday, May 6.

I keep visiting this Petland and it’s so sad. The way they’re treating the puppies is so inhumane. They don’t have clean spaces, their feces are all over their body and walls. You can easily tell how they’re not taking care of. It’s really sad that in comparison to the other puppy stores around town the other associates are so warm and welcoming regardless of the anticipation of a purchase unlike here, where they only greet you if you look like you will buy from them and instead they’re inattentive to the puppies needs (Ie grooming, cleaning their space…). A lot of these dogs have outgrown their TINY glass walls and need proper socialization. It breaks my heart to see this inhumane behavior to profit off of and commodify these animals all while benefiting from overpriced, and ill treated lives.

It was cool how you can pet and play with the animals, and the place was very fun. But the dog enclosures behind the glass seemed kinda gross and sad. Wish they had better spaces to rest.🐾

Recently, I acquired a Yorkie terrier from Petland, which had been in their care for approximately seven months. During my first veterinary visit, I was informed by the veterinarian that Petland had sold me a dog with knee issues, which was surprising as the individual who had sold me the dog had not disclosed this information. Furthermore, the medical records provided by Petland regarding the dog’s vaccinations were inaccurate, as determined by my veterinarian. Additionally, the veterinarian suggested that my dog may not be a purebred Yorkie terrier. When I contacted the store manager to address these concerns, I was met with a dismissive and condescending attitude. The manager appeared to believe that the veterinarian I had consulted was unqualified and lacked knowledge about dogs. This behavior was unacceptable, especially considering the significant amount of money I had invested in purchasing the dog and related products from Petland. Also, the vet has found parasites in his system. After being told. The dog was very healthy

Very attractive because they have puppies all the time, but supplies price is a bit more expensive than my regular store. All the puppies are amazing but very expensive. I know they are AKC inspected, vaccinated and well kept but still 3k for the cheaper dog is a robbery.
