About
Wet World has anchored the Eagan, MN aquarium scene for more than two decades, a family-run shop where the owner and his son work the counter with the kind of hands-on knowledge that keeps regulars driving past big-box stores to reach it. Walk in and you'll find the place packed floor to ceiling — tanks stacked deep, aquascaping wood and stone, and used equipment galore. It's cluttered in the way only a real fish store can be, every aisle hiding something worth a second look.
The freshwater side runs broad and deep. Hobbyists come for community staples, planted-tank greenery, Amano shrimp, and clean-up crew like corydoras and nerite snails, plus goldfish and the axolotls that have become a draw of their own — one mom stopped in because her kids were obsessed with them and left raving about the variety of species. If you're hunting corydoras or freshwater plants for sale in Eagan, MN, this is the kind of independent shop that has it.
Saltwater and reef keepers get just as much attention, which is why locals also think of it as an aquarium store. The frag tanks hold a rotating coral selection at fair prices, alongside reef fish like the fat, healthy copperband butterflies regulars rave about, and the staff will help you dial in a 10-gallon nano reef or keep a full sump system running. There's even a quarter-century-old clownfish that's become a local legend.
The shop stocks plenty of Seachem and Fluval gear and offers RO water by the gallon — a real help if your tap water is suspect. What people remember most is the guidance. Staff like Josh and Mason earn steady praise for patiently walking newcomers through cycling, stocking, and compatibility, and the crew also services established tanks for families who treat them like a legacy of love.
Recent visitors mention friendly faces and getting to meet Stu on their way out. For the Eagan aquarium community, Wet World remains the local shop worth the drive.

— Jawz323.05 days ago“Stopped in because my kids are obsessed with axolotls and a friend said they had them. Super cool shop! They were really laid back and my kids had a blast seeing the large variety of species they have.”
— Sarah Panyk5.02 weeks ago“Great experience, have been here before but only browsed. Selection and quality of fish are FAR better than big chain pet stores. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable with questions about how to best add to your tank. Was looking for new clean-up crew so bought some corydoras and nerite snails. All healthy and doing good. Plan to come back as aquarium aspirations expand.”
— Nathan Gylsen5.04 weeks ago“Great place. Fair prices and easy to work with. Recommend highly.”
— Morgan Wright5.04 weeks ago“I love stopping in to grab stuff for my kid's tank. I really liked the other day when we met Stu, even made my teen smile a little, which to me is better than winning the lottery. Cant wait to stop in again. Thanks for all your help and kindness”
— Emily Trudeau5.0a month ago“Good selection, poor animal health. Friendly staff, cramped aisles. He sold me a "snail" that was just the shell.”
— Cassie2.0a month ago“Just stepped into the aquarium hobby and the guys here at wet world really know their shit. Recommendations on plants filters, water, changes, vacuums, etc. you name it they probably know about it and can lead you in the right direction. They offer a lot of seachem and fluval products. Also RO water! Huge if your tap water is suspicious! You can either bring in a container and it’s $.83 per gallon or they rent a container to you.”
— Gigi Buddecke5.0a month ago“This place deserves 5 stars for the employees… Great interactions and knowledge from both young gentlemen in store, However, had the unpleasantness of experiencing multiple negative interactions with the owner solely over the phone. If someone new was looking to get into the hobby and asked a few questions I hope the next time you can help them instead of worry about how much of a consultation is being given…. Have some respect for the customers that spend hundreds of dollars at your store.”
