I love this place! I've only been here a couple times, once to look around and another to buy supplies, but everyone here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I had questions on maintaining plants and water quality, and they helped me to figure out what would work best for me. Not pushy at all either. The shop carries SO MANY FISH! They also have many good aquarium decorations like rocks, driftwood, and live plants. For those interested, they even carry shrimp, with the option of a ready-to-go tank available. The ability to purchase good water from them really helped too, as my own tap water is very hard. Overall, I will definitely come again, and if I ever have any questions on the care of my tank, this will be the place I will go to!

Very well stocked with cichlids and large cool salt water fish. They have a great plant selection. Prices are reasonable. Very helpful answering fish questions. Bought these adorable shubunkins! I recommend this shop for sure.

Fins & Filter may be a small shop, but it’s packed with an impressive variety of fish, reptiles, and even a super friendly shop dog! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and always take the time to share interesting facts about the animals, which our kids absolutely love. It’s a fun and educational visit every time, and even though we often just stop by to look around, we’re always greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. The shop dog is definitely a highlight—always ready for some love and attention. Whether you need pet supplies or are looking for a unique pet, Fins & Filter is a must-visit!

Still my favorite pet store in the Highland/Waterford. Very customer friendly and personal care for my tank needs. This family owned and small business are the best at what they do in the Waterford/Highland area

Everyone was so very nice and helpful! I didn’t have to search for someone to help me, a nice lady came right up and asked if I needed anything. I have had to hunt for help at other places because their staff just hide… So, the awesome help here was a pleasant surprise! This store had the most variety out of all the surrounding fish stores in the area. I really enjoyed looking around, all of the animals are well taken care of. This is my new go-to place!
