I usually have a good experience here. I been eyeing the coral beauties for a couples weeks. And the regular guy has always told me $50-$55. Today I walked in and the guy said” $100. I said why is that so expensive. He flat out said. These aren’t $10-$20 fresh water fish. These are salt. And when I told him that the regular price is no more than $60 at other places. He told me. Well I have to go through the whole reef and try to catch him. So I asked him then. Are you charging me extra because you gave to catch a harder fish. He said yes. I put back my frozen fish food. And told him. I’ll take my business elsewhere. If you need to charge people more for your catch a fish. Then change your system.

I have a cat that is at the end of his life and was seeking some comfort foods and pain medicine. The woman (who's in their video on their website) in this store was so kind and helpful. I needed to say something. Also I did go to some chains, to save some money and it's night and day when it comes to normal people conversation. Support your independents, they are worth the quality and friendliness. ✌️

Why do I come here for my dog's food. Originally, when I had my 2 pit mixes that I rescued, this was the only place that had their food in the area. Over time, I would speak with the staff and get advice on food and how to research other options. Well, my 2 pities went to the great dog park, and we were dog free for a few years. I then got a Cane Corso puppy with stomach issues, and I needed to figure something out for her. Oak Park Natural Pet & Fish for the win. They really came through on what I needed to make sure she was getting. I would've never gotten this first-hand valuable insight and how to go find the answers and research from a big chain.

This place makes me appreciate great small businesses so much. Their employees are all fish enthusiasts, so they are a wealth of knowledge and they are very generous with their time. I bought a betta fish last week and Jasmine helped me get my tank started. Unfortunately, my fish got the ich, and they also helped me through the beginning stages of the treatment process. Jasmine was so generous as to allow me to bring in my fish for quarantine and treatment while I figure out the chemical balance in my tank at home. I was very concerned and sad to see my pet's health decline and she was SO reassuring. This place really helps with the little things that Petco could never do. They sold me a used sponge to help get my bacteria cycle started in my tank. I literally can't say enough good things about this place. This is all around one of the most honest and helpful businesses I have ever encountered. LOVE what they do here. OH and did I mention that their Betta for sale are in a collection of like 10 tanks that all have their own bubbler, live plants, and ecosystem?! Talk about a FAR cry from those horrible little tupperware at Petco. This place MUST be owned by a person who cares about fish as real pets. Photo is of my fish in the treatment/quarantine tank at the pet store. Thank you again to Jasmine! Saving my fish! To the owners, thank you for employing such passionate employees. Please keep them sustained and happy!
