About
Blue Line Coral is a saltwater fish store on West Ogden Avenue in Naperville, IL, built around corals, with fish and inverts alongside. The shop says it grew from a small idea into a brick-and-mortar storefront, and 2026 reviewers describe the staff as knowledgeable, informative and friendly. Customers have long called the prices fair, and the shop says it aims for the best prices in Chicagoland.
Coral is the main event. The lineup spans LPS such as Euphyllia, Goniopora, Favia, chalices, acans and blastos; soft corals including zoanthids, leathers and mushrooms; and SPS, among them aquacultured and maricultured pieces. Blue Line farms some of its corals at its own aquaculture facility, which it says yields well-conditioned specimens free of hitchhikers, and it works with a network of growers to find rare and unique corals.
If you are hunting for a specific coral, the shop invites you to ask, and one 2026 customer who reserved fish ahead of time said they came in extremely healthy. Saltwater fish and inverts for sale in Naperville, IL round out the tanks, from emerald crabs and clean-up crew to Berghia nudibranchs for aiptasia control. Dry goods cover the basics, down to a box of salt for your next water change.
Blue Line also runs coral auctions, with winners collecting their pieces at the shop, and it takes corals on the road to regional swaps. Services go beyond the sales floor. The shop offers a babysitter for your tank over a long weekend away and will help you build a complete system.
Current and retired law enforcement and military members can ask about a livestock discount, subject to verification. Not every recent visit has gone smoothly. In 2026 one reviewer reported losing several corals, a fish and emerald crabs after purchase, and another said an auction pickup included the wrong coral, so looking over your pieces before you leave is a good habit at any aquarium store.
Regular hours are Wednesday and Thursday afternoons plus Saturday and Sunday, with Monday, Tuesday and Friday visits by appointment.

“bought once never again the guy is so rude only looking at his tablet. went there to pick up coral from auction that I won, I get home one of the corals was the wrong coral and was missing or swapped. I contact the owner in which he responds which coral was missing I sent him picture and doesnt respond back. wheres the integrity when you sell the wrong coral and dont even provide refund. Lots of bot reviews so don't trust this place. first time shopper and last time.”

— Tim Curtis5.02 months ago“Excellent service. Very informative group of workers. Placed a preorder and the fish came in extremely healthy. Would go through this place over any others if your local or even within 30 miles.”
— Sticks RL5.02 months ago“Great selection of corals, very friendly staff. Missing stars due to health of fish and corals. Out of 10 corals i had 3 die unfortunately, got 2 fishes and 1 survivied, got 4 emerald crabs and all of them died. Quality is definitely lacking.”

— Jerry Caudle5.0a week ago“Unprofessional on resolving issues. In November of 2025 won on auction paid online, went to the store for them to tell me it is lost. They gave me my money back and no aplogy. Recently, I won some auctions but two that I should have won per system error I did not win. I went to the store to show them proof that I won but they gave me a hard time. Emailed the owner and told me he does not run the auction program. I tried to work with them but gave me the cold shoulder and told me to take a ride what ever that means. I will no longer be giving them my business. I have bought so much from them and this is how they take care of the customers. Who else has had issues?”

— William Lutman5.0Edited a month ago“Smaller shop but great people with affordable prices. Anyone just starting out setting up a reef tank should check them out. Prices are affordable so when the occasional mishap of a coral occurs you're not out of hundreds of bucks! Highly recommend. Also military and 1st responders get a discount as well.”
