Fish Island

This is my third trip to Fish Island. This mom and pop shop may not look like a high end aquatic shop, but I’ve learned more about it keeping Fish and maintenance in my three trips there. Eugene and wife are constantly working to make sure livestock are healthy. I I looked at every tank and did not see one sick or dead fish. When I order fish, they assure that the fish are healthy and exactly what I want. They’re very knowledgeable, polite and volunteer much information to assure that I have a healthy Fish Tank and an enjoyable hobby. Thank you both I look forward to my next visit to fish Island.

Lovely couple, friendly and knowledgeable service, fair prices, and well worth the METRA trip from Chicago! It’s been a year, since my first (and only so far) trip to Fish Island, and I definitely will be back! I purchased (among other creatures) an albino plecco who I call Oscar. He is doing very well, he’s the king of the aquarium, a bit of a bully come feeding time; but, his tank mates aren’t phased one bit!

A wonderful young man named Eugene came to my home recently in Avondale/Logan Square in Chicago, because I had a terrible amount of green algae in my fish tank. He cleaned out the tank, and showed me the best green algae killer device. It took awhile to kill the algae, but it's ok now. The water is clean, and the remaining fish are ok.

Alina is an expert in the aquarium hobby. She was able to help me pick plants for my modest freshwater aquarium to really elevate it! We spent almost a half hour just chatting about the hobby and our experiences as women in a mainly male-dominated hobby. Happy that she is in the field and will continue to shop with her.

Amazing store! The owner was wonderful- our beta is so happy in his new tank! So many happy fish, turtles and even axolotls!
