These guys are awesome. Super patient when I had to change my order several times. Knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They were swamped and low on stock when I arrived but still made sure I was taken care of. I got Channel cats and my neighbor got a variety pack. We had the best time!

I’m very sorry to have to write such review, however, my experience with Shongaloo Fisheries has been the absolute worst experience. First, you can’t get ahold of anyone. Call and call and call, trying different hours throughout the day. Nothing. Then, when someone does answer, it’s someone that can’t tell you anything. Just, “let me have someone call you back”. And guess what… yep, no one ever calls you back. So, you have to call, and call, and call, until you get the jackpot again and someone answers. Eventually (I’ve literally gone through that cycle 5 times before getting someone who can answer a question about fish), you get someone that can help. I began my interaction with Shongaloo summer of 2023… trying to get recommendations with what fish and what density to stock my pond with. I ultimately bought fish (minnows, bream, catfish, and bass) last April (I was ready to purchase when I first called, but couldn’t get answers until April. Granted, I likely could have shortened this timeline if I had all the time in the world to allocate and my patience could support it. They told me everything would be ready for delivery in a couple weeks. A couple, then a few weeks came and went. After hearing nothing I subjected myself to the “try to get ahold of someone” cycle. Finally got ahold of someone that could confirm they did have fish for me. They set a delivery date for me for all but my bass (the bass needed longer and would be a separate delivery, later). Well as delivery date approached I heard nothing. The afternoon before the delivery I finally got ahold of someone and they said they were going to have to delay the delivery. My thought… “ok, were you going to tell me?”. I had to take off work to be home for this delivery. No consideration at all. So anyway, it was rescheduled and it did finally arrive. That was late June. So, I was then just waiting on the bass… a couple weeks after delivery I followed up reminding them I was still waiting on my order of bass, looking for some sign of confirmation they were still tracking the order. You know what they told me… “Sorry, all our bass are sold”. WHAT? How in gods name did that happen? It went from “they aren’t ready yet” to “they’re all gone”! Damn. They said to wait till October for the next batch and they’ll have me at the top of the list. Guess what, it’s getting to be well into October and I haven’t heard a word. I hope if you do business with them it goes better for you. They aren’t bad people, they’re just over their heads. Edited to say… July 9th 2025, and I still haven’t received my bass. July 10th: After messaging the owner yesterday (9th) and not getting word back, I called the front office to hear they sold out of bass "a couple weeks ago" and they won't be available until next year. WHAT? ha. oh man. Make it right Shongaloo! I'm loosing my patience.

I recently visited Shongaloo farm to get some fish for my studies and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. They took the time to give me a thorough tour, explaining the entire process of fish farming and the species they were farming. It was clear that the team takes great pride in their work. They packed the fish so professionally using proper packaging material and had an easy ride back.

I recently received fish with Shongaloo Fisheries for research purposes. Their team was highly responsive, well-organized, and made the entire process incredibly smooth and efficient. I greatly appreciate their support for university research and look forward to working with them again in the future.

When Joel was running Shongaloo I never had a problem talking to him or getting fish. Since he retired I have a very difficult time even speaking to someone. About 6 calls and have only spoken to someone once, which was informed to call back at a later date. I did so several times and get nobody to answer the phone. Really would like to get some more fish but need to speak to someone to do so.if and when I talk to someone about some fish, I will change the rating. But until I do one star is the best I can do. With Joel at the helm it was quite easily a 5 star review.
