Elite Reef

I just started my first salt aquarium. I had no experience but always wanted one. I visited all the big salt water fish stores in denver, some are more helpful than others. I realized the staff are the most important part of having the best store. Josh has been extremely helpful in giving me the best advice to make sure everything goes as planned. A lot of fish stores have employees that brush you off, don’t really care, but Josh and Brisa are really nice, always helping me test my water levels, and don’t make me feel like I’m bothering them. Elite reef is definitely the best salt water aquarium store in denver .

We’re currently looking to get fish and we’re trying to decide between salt water and fresh water fish. We showed up to this store which had an open sign that was on as well as huge letters and numbers plastered on the front that said open until 9 pm on Tuesdays. When we pulled up, the employee working gave us a nasty look before walking inside, and then as we went up to the door, she had locked it. I guess that decides which route we’ll be going. Wouldn’t recommend.

First the staff is super nice and helpful. Good quality fish and corals with fair prices. Nice selection of dry goods, too.

My favorite saltwater fish store in the Denver Metro. Once a month or more I will do a tour of 4-6 SW fish stores in Denver. I always make sure Elite Reef is my last stop because I know more likely than not they will have either what I am looking for or when just browsing will more likely than not have something I want and take home. This way my purchaes don't have to wait long in a ice chest in the car while I hit up the other stores. But they make up about 65% of all my SW livestock purchaes. Some of the staff I feel like could learn a little bit more. I hear them (2 of the staff not the manager or owner) making not wrong persay answers to customers questions but not really accurate either. But the few answers I heard them make were minor and would not cause harm just prevented the buyer from getting something that could have helped them in their situation. Small things. Staff is always friendly and accessible. And this place is always my favorite SW fish store to hit up. And if I don't have 3 hours for a fish store tour then this is always the one shop I go to. Update May 2025. Elite Reef still the best saltwater fish or coral shop in the Denver Metro. Just rewatched Netflix Coral Chaser and was surprised to see Elite Reef getting shown off. Shows how epic this shop has been, and for a while.

This store has clean tanks, great selection of corals and fish along with personalized service. Highly recommended
