Ocean's Tropical Fish

I got guppies from Ocean’s Tropical Fish, and they were absolutely amazing! The fishes were healthy and vibrant, and I was pleasantly surprised by how many baby guppies I had. They thrived and lived a long time, which shows how well they were taken care of. When I had to move, the team was so kind and happily accepted all the baby guppies back. Their service is exceptional, and you can tell they really care about their fish and their customers. I’m so happy with both the quality of the fish and the overall experience. Highly recommend!

I recently made a large purchase from this store, including a fish tank. Unfortunately, the tank’s light wasn’t working. Instead of returning everything, I called to ask for a solution, and they told me to come in for a replacement light. When I arrived, they gave me a light from a completely different product (unboxed!), which I found odd. I took it home and realized it didn’t fit the tank properly. I called again and was told I could return it and get a light from the same tank model. On my THIRD visit, I was told it was “crazy” to return the light because they believed it should have fit. I tried to explain, calmly, that it didn’t fit well, but the staff's tone and attitude were dismissive and disrespectful. I gave up trying to resolve it further. I’m disappointed with the lack of professionalism and customer service — especially after spending a significant amount at this store. I hope they reflect on how they treat their customers.

I asked the gal working if she had a specific type of tetra which she was not aware of and thought that it was a name of a chemical to put in the water. She seemed very uninterested and in a hurry to close out my question. There really were no customers in the store but I felt like the employees were rushing around and wanted to give short and incomplete answers. I have more questions but I didn't really like the attitude from the girl so the other employee once he was free I approached him. The gentleman that worked there did help me but was not able to give me any information on freshwater plants as he said he did not know. After bagging some plants for me I felt that he was in a rush to get it completed. The store has a lot of potential and looks like a nice balance between fresh and some Advanced saltwater setups. I've been into aquariums for 45 years. And I've been in a lot of specialty stores. This was my first to travel down to Mission viejo. Really no reason to return. *** The owner's reply... (see screenshot attached) Not really surprised bc the culture obviously starts with this owner. There was no negatively expressed during my visit, just my review of poor personnel service and now I'm not welcomed back... after I said no reason to return. 😆 I read more of the reviews and see the trend coming from the owner. Customers are hard to come by these days... probably will catch up to them. Do your research, plenty of Great specialty aquarium fish store with better selection and certainly service. 👋 bye

Wow, this place is such a badass store!! I love coming here! Ocean'sTropical Fish is hands-down the best tropical fish store around. Killer vibes, super knowledgeable staff, and they’re not just trying to sell you a fish for the sake of selling it. They actually care about what happens after you leave the store and want to make sure your tank stays healthy and balanced. You can tell they’re all about helping your setup thrive—not just making a quick sale.

It was a really nice store I went to buy fish and some other stuff, very patient staff and very knowledgeable and helpful, the place was very nice:)
