About
The Fish Tank sits on the outskirts of Little Rock as one of the only dedicated tropical fish shops in central Arkansas keeping both freshwater and saltwater livestock under one roof. For a metro that otherwise leans on big-box pet chains, it's the place hobbyists point to when they want real specimens, corals, and cleanup crew you simply won't find at PetSmart, and longtime regulars are quick to call it the best spot in town to get fish. The shop leans hard toward the saltwater side, enough that it functions as the area's de facto reef and coral store.
You'll find a rotating selection of corals, marine fish like wrasses, and cleanup-crew invertebrates at prices customers describe as genuinely reasonable. Freshwater keepers come for livestock, snails, live plants, and supplies, and aquascapers make a point of digging through the hardscape selection in the back room, where more than one visitor has walked out with stone and wood for a fresh build. If you're after corals or saltwater fish for sale in Little Rock, AR, this is the rare local counter that actually keeps them in stock.
Staff knowledge gets steady praise, with Cade in particular earning repeat shout-outs for being both sharp and easy to talk to. Recent visitors note a change of staff and describe the current team as attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to chat about the hobby, a welcome shift that newer regulars have gone out of their way to mention. Several shoppers highlight leaving with healthy fish and useful guidance, and the crew can track down a specific fish you're after and have it waiting at the counter for pickup when it isn't already on the floor.
It's an unpretentious working aquarium store: you walk in, get what you need the same day, and head back out without the runaround. Tanks can occasionally use a tidy, but the live stock is well cared for and the selection runs deeper than anywhere else nearby. For central Arkansas aquarists who'd rather shop local than chase a chain, The Fish Tank remains the go-to for corals, marine fish, and freshwater stock available in Little Rock, AR.

Customer reviews
“Great shop! I’ve been a hobbyist my entire life. Prices are pretty inexpensive, the staff are knowledgeable and attentive. It’s a good place to go if you have questions or just want to chat about the hobby. After reading some bad reviews from the past, it should be mentioned that it seems there’s been a change of staff. Most importantly: They can order specific fish to their store for you to pickup if they don’t have it in stock.”

— Gregory Krajeski5.0a day ago“Should be called the Salt Water Fish Tank .. They had alot of tanks.. Not really an inviting atmosphere.. I'll pass this one for future aquatic needs.”
— Rick Schrunk2.02 months ago“I’ve visited this store twice and left without making a purchase both times. During my first visit, the woman working there seemed uninterested in helping. She was focused on her computer and made assumptions before I could even finish explaining what I needed. On my second visit, I waited patiently, but she chose to help other customers who had just walked in before acknowledging me. When I finally asked if they carried Malaysian trumpet snails or bladder snails, she said they had some but that they were “hiding” and wouldn’t come out until feeding time..... I truly wanted to support a local business, but it’s clear this shop isn’t interested in providing good customer service. The experience both times was disappointing — poor communication, poor service, and a store that didn’t feel well-kept. I do not recommend this location.”
— Taitmon1.03 months ago“I wish this place was better but unfortunately you will need to drive to st louis or memphis, possibly hot springs to buy corals, but this place is a major disappointment for little rock. I have unsuccessfuly tried to buy corals 3 times in the past 2 months not because they didn't have any but because the people working there either didn't have a clue or weren't interested in selling. I wish I knew the real owner but the poor old guy that works there always says I dont know when you ask anything about the coral or price he then points to a girl with green hair for help but she just sits behind the desk texting refusing to look up and finally looking embarrassed he walks off to the back and for the third time we walk out without buying anything . Thanks for online vendors. It's a pity this place could be rolling in business if there were only someone working there that cared , little rock really needs a coral shop , I know someone in little rock could do better .”
