The Ozark Angler

Very nice shop. Lots of flies to choose from. pretty good selection of materials for tying flies. Seems geared toward the big-name brands. May just be me but seems to be a bit pricey. I get it, being that close to the river you can charge a bit more. The guy running the place was very friendly and informative. If I'm fishing in the area and need a specific fly that I do not have tied, I will certainly go here and spend the extra. No disrespect intended in this review, the shop was great.

As a beginner angler, it can be intimidating to walk into a store where you know the staff will be full of seasoned pros. You should not feel this way going to this store. Mike gave me fly recommendations. George took time out of his afternoon to give me a casting lesson outside. I will definitely return, hopefully with pictures of fish!

I would highly recommend The Ozark Angler for those of you interested in fly fishing. These guys know so much about the local waters! I spent almost an hour talking with Mike and Tom (one of several local guides) and was so impressed with their knowledge and experience. These are genuine guys who want to help people enjoy the sport and not just getting your money. I will always visit them when in the area and use their guides. You owe it to yourself to visit and meet with them and see for yourself.

Called these guys seeing if I could get a last minute guided trip. Fortunately they were able to squeeze me in the upcoming weekend. Got paired up with Bill as a guide, he was great and put my wife and I on a lot of fish. He was a fantastic guide, great conversation and taught us a lot. Will definitely be scheduling more with him!

New to the area and on a last minute short trip from Texas, my husband and I stopped by The Ozark Angler to find out more about fly-fishing in the area. It did not disappoint. They took time to sit down with us, giving us great information. Thanks Ozark Angler for your help!
